“I just feel like I need to document this age, this time of her life.” When Ashlee reached out to me to host her daughter’s photo session and said those words, I couldn’t have been more excited! I knew that Ashlee gets it…that time is precious. Pivotal moments deserve to be time stamped. This sweet mama knows that she is entering a season of change as she watches her little girl become a young lady. Oh my mama heart...I know this time will be here for me too... in the blink of an eye… que the tears!!
Maddie is 14 years old and about to start high school in the Fall. What a milestone moment in a child’s life. As a mom of little ones, I can only imagine how this pulls at your heart strings. Wanting them to stay little but allowing just a tiny bit of “go and spread your wings.” High school is a place where you find out what friendships really mean, start preparing for your future career or maybe you find your first “true” love. Friday night lights and the thrill of cheering on your favorite team. Such a time of change and discovering your place in life.
Maddie is a beautiful young lady. She was so sweet and fun! She is also a beautiful dancer and I loved seeing her passion when she spoke about dance. I had so much fun getting to do this session. It was a vastly different from chasing a toddler around town trying to snap pictures! Ha! I love my photography studio so much, and I also love the fact that I live in the most adorable quaint little town of Springville, AL. It has that perfect small-town feel. Charm oozes from the historic buildings and storefronts. I love that the warm and inviting businesses leave their doors propped open. Waving flags and flowers are everywhere. There is so much hometown pride in this community. Our main street is a perfect backdrop to capture beautiful outdoor photos!
Ashlee, I’m so thankful that you chose me to document such a beautiful season of your lives. I have no doubt Maddie will continue to grow into a beautiful young lady and navigate her way through this great big world. I know she has amazing things in store!
